Darby's Synopsis
In the genealogies of Levi (1 Chron. 6) we see, first of all, the line of high priests until the captivity; and then the Levites, their services and their cities. After Levi come Issachar (1 Chron. 7:1), Benjamin (1 Chron. 7:6), Naphtali (1 Chron. 7:13), few in number; the other half tribe of Manasseh (1 Chron. 7:14), Ephraim (1 Chron. 7:20), and Asher (1 Chron. 7:30). Then we find Benjamin again (1 Chron. 8), first of all with reference to Jerusalem, and afterwards in connection with the family of Saul.

A brief recital of the ruin of Saul's house introduces Jehovah's establishment of the house of David. All that took place before the people gathered themselves to David at Hebron, and before the kingdom was established in his house over all Israel at Jerusalem, is passed over in silence.
